♦ As the epidemic of break-ins continue throughout Salisbury, N.C., Kyle Edward Colton Hensley, 26, living in the Prince Charles apartments on N. Fulton Street, was arrested for allegedly breaking into his fellow neighbor’s apartments. Hensley was charged with stealing jewelry and other valuables from his Prince Charles neighbors.
Hensley faces five counts of obtaining property by false pretenses, one count of felony breaking and entering, and once count of felony larceny. Several other charges are pending.
Prince Charles residents became aware that various valuables were missing from their apartments. Jewelry, change jars, electronics, gold pens and other valuables vanished.
Salisbury Police were tipped off by area pawnshops that a man was showing up regularly with suspicious booty. Some of the valuables were identified as coming from the Prince Charles.
Hensley, according to the investigation, was subleasing an apartment from someone living out of state. He allegedly gained entrance to his neighbors apartment by simply trying unlocked doors. Eventually his luck ran out when he walked in on a neighbor who questioned the 26 year old intruder. Hensley offered he was “just checking on him”.
Hensley, allegedly carried on his uninvited visits since July and commerce with pawnshops. Some of the valuables were recovered during the ongoing investigation.
Being held under a $60,000 bond, Hensley is currently in the Rowan County Detention Center in Salisbury, N.C.
N.C. Department of Corrections, Hensley is on probation for a conviction of felony gun theft.
