City council listened two opposing sides of the special-use permit for government services on September 15th and tomorrow council will vote on the granting of this permit.
Back in early September the City of Salisbury’s planning board voted 7 to 2 to recommend approval of the special-use permit to allow government uses of the West End Plaza.
City Council Agenda Highlights:
• A discussion of the search for a new city manager.
• Consideration of rezoning two acres at 504 N. Main Street where the Rowan-Salisbury School System plans on building a 47,000 square foot Central Office.
• A public hearing on whether to improve incentives for New Sarum Brewery’s expansion. The brewery’s owners desire to develop the Tractor Building on North Lee Street and move operations there. A $50,00 grant for the building’s rehabilitation is part of the incentives package.
