♦ Early Friday morning Jennifer Ann Craig, 39, of Rachel Lane in Salisbury, N.C. left “Nashville Nights”, a C & W club on West Innes, and allegedly began a drunk driving spree in her husband’s truck. Later Ms. Craig was said to have wrecked her husband’s truck, drove across someone’s yard, hit two vehicles, smashed into a tree, and flicked blood on a Salisbury Police officer. Ms. Craig was arrested and charged with malicious conduct by a prisoner, and hit and run/property damage, and driving while impaired. She was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center under $1000 bond.
During the alleged Friday morning spree Ms. Craig’s husband sat quietly in the truck’s passenger seat.. Several blocks from “Nashville Nights” Ms. Craig’s adventure took her through a muddy yard where she hit two parked vehicles and eventually rammed a tree where she was stuck in the mud. When police arrived. Ms. Craig was reported to be screaming and cursing. At one point she boasted to officers she had an AK-47 behind the driver’s seat. Disoriented, Ms. Craig told Police she was on Highway 152 in China Grove when she was actually on E. Innes in Salisbury.
After the incidents, Ms. Craig was transported to Novant Rowan Medical Center where her stay was short after allegedly flicking blood on an officer.
