♦ Thursday evening at approximately 9:20 p.m. a shooting took place on the 1000 block of South Fulton in Salisbury, N.C. where a an identified black male was transported to Novant Rowan Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the shin. Witnesses at the scene identified Demetri Barber, 19, of the 500 block of South Shaver Street as the alleged shooter. Barber is now being sought on a warrant for assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.
According to Salisbury Police sources the victim walked out of a dwelling on the 100 block of Ridge Avenue and spotted a black Ford Crown Victoria at the corner of Ridge Ave. and Crosby Street. Moments later a shot was fired from the vehicle followed by a second round which hit the victim in the shin. The car sped off before the victim waved down a passing motorist who transported him to Novant Medical Center.
