♦ Salisbury Police arrested Quashone Demario Smith, 17, Friday at the Clancy Hills Apartments bordering the West End Plaza and charged him with carrying a concealed weapon, resist, obstruct and delay an officer, a citation for discharging a firearm in the city and simple possession of marijuana.
Police sources report an officer responding to repetitive gunshots at the Clancy Hills Apartments on Clancy Street by West Jake Alexander Boulevard. The officer stopped Smith who started to run and then stopped a few yards away. When the officer searched a backpack Smith carried, he located a 9mm Taurus handgun and a gram of pot.
Smith, under a $16,000 secured bond, is now in the Rowan County Detention Center.
