♦ A black male, wearing a dark hoodie and a white cap, was busy shoplifting Thursday when he was recognized from a previous shoplifting escapade Tuesday at Ulta’s in Wallace Commons. On Tuesday he and several companions were spotted loading shopping bags full of expensive Chanel body-care products and perfumes before an alarm was sounded.
Yesterday the clerk, who noticed the thief’s return, confronted the shoplifter, and warned him to stop. The thief continued to fill his bag and cautioned the clerk to back off–the thief claimed to have a gun. When he finished loading up his bag, he left the store and trotted toward Michael’s.
After the Salisbury Police arrived, they employed a K-9 to track the shoplifter along a path behind Wallace Commons. After a few minutes the K-9 lost the scent in a wooded area behind Los Arcos Restaurant.
The shoplifting group was identified earlier as owning a burgundy sports car and an older model box style jeep. It’s likely they may unload their goods at flea markets and neighborhood lawn sales.
Persons with information about the shoplifters should call Salisbury-Rowan Crime Stoppers at 1-866-639-5245.
