♦ The bodies of a 95-year old woman and her 63-year old son were mysteriously found dead not far from each other in the backyard of their home on the 1711 St. Paul Church Road in East Rowan. The bodies were noticed by a meat salesman and called into 911 at around 1:15 p.m. on Friday. Neither of the deceased names have been released at this time, according to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, and the apparent cause of their deaths has yet to be determined. Their bodies were transported to the N.C. Medical Examiners for an autopsy.
Investigators from the Sheriff’s Office combed over the property throughout the afternoon, but so far they found no signs as to why the mother and son died.
Any persons with information about these deaths are requested to call Investigator Rodney Mahaley at 704-216-8711 or Lt. Chad Moose at 704-216-8687.
