♦ Saturday Afternoon around 2 p.m. a woman, walking alone on South Main Street near Heilig Avenue, suddenly found herself locked in mortal combat during a fearsome kidnap attempt.
As the woman strolled along the street she heard someone calling her over to his vehicle. The vehicle started following her.
She ignored the voice at first and kept walking. He continued to say inappropriate things to her.
The car door opened a few yards away and the man emerged. Soon she was struggling with the man who tried to wrestle her by her shoulders into the car. She kicked, punched, hollered, and scratched him until he finally let go.
She ran to her home a short distance away and ran inside. The man lingered in front of her house for a little bit and then took off. Still terrified by what happened, she called the Salisbury Police and described what just occurred on South Main.
Later she would describe her attacker as a middle aged Hispanic man with a round face and a medium build. He drove an older dark green Honda Accord.
