♦ David Lucas Dyson, 24, of the 100 block of Ashley Drive in Salisbury, N.C. was charged with misdemeanor assault on a government official, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, and felony malicious conduct by a prisoner when a spat on a police officer and grabbed at another officer’s Taser. The incident occurred Monday at around 3:15 on the 1700 block of First Street by C Avenue. Salisbury Police had just responded to a call for shots being fired in the area and a suspicious person nearby.
Mr. Dyson was arrested with .380 automatic on his person along with used syringe and a straw with white powder residue.
When the officers started processing Dyson he attempted to snatch the officer’s Taser, but failed. Soon Dyson was being placed in the patrol car for the drive to the Magistrate’s when he spat on an officer. Dyson was shortly fitted for a spitting mask.
Currently Dyson is under a $10,000 secured bond in the Rowan County Detention Center.
