Salisbury City Council Wisely Nixes Paying for Frivolous Green Dome and Sends Only $656,000 toward the Central Office Project

♦ Salisbury City Council wisely voted to reject paying for the frivolous green metal dome ($341,000) for the Central Office at 500 N. Main and instead granted $656,000 ($500,000 in Cash and $156,000 in-kind services) toward the Central Office Project.

The Rowan-Salisbury School Board will still require funding for the Central Offices parking lots, sidewalks, and storm drains.  The project will do well without the frivolous dome that certainly would not fit in its new habitat on the outer periphery of downtown Salisbury.
