♦ According to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, Crystal Michelle Jones, 29, of the 6800 block of Unity Church Rd. in South Rowan, repeatedly stabbed her boyfriend with a kitchen knife when he requested help in setting up a video game on Saturday. Jones, after throwing the knife into the front yard, immediately fled the scene with her 8 year-old son. Sheriff’s deputies recovered the knife not long after they arrived.
The 47 year-old victim of the knife assault was transported to the Carolinas Medical Center-Northeast.
The day following the stabbing Jones was located on the 200 block of Allman Farm Road near Kannapolis and charged him with felony assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, misdemeanor communicating threats, and misdemeanor contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Jones was later given a $10,000 secured bond and is in the Rowan County Detention Center.
Jones was previously convicted a misdemeanor assault and was charged with a misdemeanor probation violation and assault with a deadly weapon.
