♦ A nation-wide bedding leader, Mattress Firm joined the growing roster of major retail at Shoppes at Summit on Julian Road in Rowan County. Currently Shoppes at Summit lists Kirkland’s, Salsarita’s Fresh Cantina, Dick’s Sports, and Hobby Lobby. A number of other major retailers are expected to be named before long. Shops at Summit look to staunch some of the retail leakage plaguing Salisbury, N.C. and Rowan County.
Mattress Firm Inc. is the largest bedding retailer in the United States with over 1600 locations in 35 States. Those numbers will increase when Mattress Firm Inc. completes its buyout of The Sleep Train Inc. sometime in 2015. Mattress Firm was founded in 1986 in Houston, Texas where the retailers headquarter are located. Mattress Firm’s stores are famous for stocking all the major brand mattresses at discounted prices.
