♦ Livingstone College in Salisbury, N.C. achieved a national ranking among the 25 Most Dangerous College Campuses in America, finishing in 19th place on StartClass.com’s list.
The venerable West End college has been hailed at various times as “Gangsta U.” for its affiliated Salisbury gang members, its large scale spring campus riots, and its record setting burglary reports. No mention was made of its alleged fire code violations. Challenged by its location in the troubled West End, where sidewalks are at a minimum and safety street lighting is passed over for bike lanes elsewhere, it is hoped that Livingstone College will make adjustments to lose this unbecoming national ranking.
