♦ John Wilburn Harmon, 28, residing at 215 Shinn Street in Rockwell and an interstate criminal roosting at times in Bibb County, Georgia, allegedly added to his extensive criminal resume Saturday night. On Saturday John allegedly stole a Ford Taurus, dragging its owner caught in a chain for a distance, helped himself to the Taurus owner’s rifle, and battled a trio of firefighters from the Franklin Volunteer Fire Department at the scene. If that wasn’t enough, Harmon later on Sunday morning tried to bull away from a Sheriff’s deputy sent to arrest him, but failed.
Harmon was arrested on the following charges:
• Larceny motor vehicle
• Larceny of a firearm
• Assault with a deadly weapon
• Assault on a government official (3 counts)
• Communicating threats
• Resist/delay/obstruct a public officer
• Weapon possession by a felon of firearms etc. probation.
Harmon is in the Rowan County Detention Center on a $52,500 secured bond. He will receive a court hearing on February 24th.
