♦ Monday morning Keyows Weeks, 19, was shot in his upper thigh in the vicinity of an ATM in the West End Plaza parking lot. Salisbury Police investigators were said to be dubious about Week’s account about how he received the gunshot wound. His story appeared to conflict with statements made by witnesses close to the scene of Monday’s early morning shooting.
Salisbury Police, after receiving a call from the Emergency Room Staff at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center about Week’s gunshot wound, interviewed the victim and were baffled by his story about being shot from behind when his thigh wound demonstrated he was shot facing the shooter.
Weeks claimed he was in the West End Plaza’s parking lot when a trio of males in black hoodies and black pants strolled up behind him and shot him. He was transported to Novant Health Rowan Medical Center by a friend.
No evidence of a shooting was found at the alleged scene.
Keyow Weeks at one time was a West Rowan High School footballer.
Persons with information about the shooting are urged to call the Salisbury-Rowan Crime Stoppers at 1-866-639-5245.
