♦ WSTP radio will end Howard Platt and Kent Bernhardt’s radio show this coming Friday. Both Platt and Bernhardt were with the radio station since the 70’s. With the station being sold to the Catawba College Foundation and 2B productions, the changes were expected. As yet the station has not announced what programming will replace Platt and Bernhardt, but most likely the programming will be a platform for Catawba students majoring in communications and business. Word out in Salisbury is that Catawba students will cover local news.
The very popular Buddy Poole, a Rowan County radio icon, is the president and general manager of WSAT and will lend his professional hand in overseeing WSTP’s transition.
