♦ Maurice Boyd Woodward, 52, from Woodleaf, N.C., a fugitive from Rowan justice since 2007, was captured without incident Saturday in a Louisiana trailer park in Tickfaw, Louisiana. Rowan County Sheriff’s Office Det. Carl Dangerfield is credited with dilegently uncovering Woodward’s whereabouts and alerting authorities in Louisiana.
The Rowan County District Attorney’s Office is currently is moving forward on Woodward’s extradition back to the county to face charges on 2 counts of possession of a firearm by a felon and possession with intent to sell/deliver cocaine. A warrant of Woodward’s arrest alleges he possessed .380-caliber pistol, a .45 Colt Derringer pistol and that he sold 4 grams of cocaine and possessed digital scales.
