♦ Sadly we were informed today by sources inside of Rowan County government that Mid-State Manufacturing at 2960 Corriher Grange Road in MT. Ulla, after suffering its devastating January fire, will not be reopening. The cost of rebuilding was prohibitive. The closing will spell the loss of 80 jobs in Rowan County.
Mid-State Manufacturing made precision metal components. In May 2014 Mid-State Manufacturing was acquired by Impulse Manufacturing in Dawsonville, Georgia. Some 80 persons were employed at the West Rowan facility.
