♦ Sarah Jean Plyler, 51, of Rockwell and her daughter Alishia Michelle Plyler, 29, of China Grove brought the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office and the United States Postal Service inspectors down on them when they received 11 pounds of marijuana at Alishia’s home on the 200 block of Bonnie Lane in China Grove back in January.
A package of marijuana was mailed from McAllen, Texas and sent to a fictitious name at the Bonnie Lane address. Investigators conducted a surveillance of the residence. When the package arrived, a search warrant was executed and the mother and daughter were arrested. Evidence inside the house pointed to mother and daughter receiving prior marijuana packages.
Both mother and daughter were charged with trafficking marijuana by possession (Felony). Alishia Plyler was additionally charged with maintaining a dwelling/vehicle to keep/sell controlled substances (Felony).
The mother and daughter both were issued $5000 secured bonds and were briefly held at the Rowan County Detention Center.
