♦ On Monday, Christopher Allen Morgan,36, of Salisbury and Chasity Rae Morgan, 32, of Spencer sailed through a stop sign on South Main street and Peach Orchard Road when they caught the attention of a Sheriff’s Office Deputy. He noticed the car’s missing rear bumper, damaged tire, and that the vehicles occupants were driving with the interior lights on after 9:15 p.m. The deputy soon caught up with the erratically driving couple when they made a brief food pit-stop at the Wilco-Hess convenience store at South Main and Airport Road.
Back on the road again the duo soon were pulled over on Airport Road. After the male rolled down his window the deputy smelled pot. A search of the vehicle revealed black tar heroin in the driver’s side door compartment and a joint, glass pipe, and a syringe with heroin residue on the floor of the passenger side. The driver’s wallet revealed 11 suboxone strips prescribed for Chasity Rae Morgan. Busted.
The pair were both charged Monday with possession of a schedule I controlled substance (Felony) and possession of drug paraphernalia (Misdemeanor). Both were held under separate $4,000 secured bonds and were held briefly in the Rowan County Detention Center.
