♦ Reginald Dean “The Weasel” Oglesby, 39, a Salisbury Sex Offender who became a fugitive after walking out of the Rowan County Court House March 5th before a verdict was reached in his trial was caught Wednesday by the SBI and the Winston-Salem Police. For several days federal, state, and local law enforcement carried on an intensive manhunt focusing on the “Weasel’s” favored haunts and followed up on public tips. A $1000 dollar reward was offered for information leading to his capture.
Oglesby was transported back to Rowan where he was charged Wednesday with sex offender failure to notify change of address, 2 charges of failure to appear/comply, and Habitual felon. Oglesby’s secured bonds total $5,300,000 dollars. He is now in the Rowan County Detention Center.
“The Weasel” will soon face a sentencing date for a drug charge conviction before Superior Court Judge W. David Lee.
Oglesby, a career criminal and registered sex offender, also faces pending charges for possession of a firearm by a felon and drug trafficking.

“Earlier today Reggie Dean “the Weasel” Oglesby, 39, of Salisbury fled the County Courthouse in Downtown Salisbury, N.C. while a Superior Court Jury was deliberating his case. He was convicted in absentia for selling cocaine to an undercover Sheriff’s Office investigator on August 12th 2013. Oglesby’s sentence is now delayed. At the time Oglesby was not in custody, but was out on bond. He left the courtroom against the advice of his lawyer prior to the jury returning a guilty verdict.
Oglesby faced pending charges for drug trafficking and possession of a firearm by a felon.
