♦ Amy Jo Honeycutt, 46, was charged today with prostitution (engage), 3 probation violations, and failure to appear. Honeycutt received a $26,000 secured bond and was booked into the Rowan County Detention Center early Thursday morning.
This past Tuesday Honeycutt was due in court, but was unable to attend because she was jailed in Transylvania County for violating probation by driving with a revoked license.
Last New Years Honeycutt was arrested on complaints of illegal sex activity a two unlicensed Salisbury “massage” parlors. Honeycutt’s operation billed itself as “The Original Hott Pink Therapeutic Massage Spa, Inc.” and operated out of a Salisbury duplex at 420 D Ave., offering exotic “massage” through its site on Facebook. It was alleged clients forked over $60 to $160 for services rendered and based on the amount of clothing worn by the “masseuses”.
Apparently a former employee dropped the dime on the parlor when Honeycutt allegedly asked her to perform sex with her customers. An undercover investigator followed up the tip and soon joined two naked women in a massage. In short order a raid occurred and arrested all the parlor’s patrons. All electronic records devices were rounded up including phone records and client lists. In the records roundup, the records included client’s names, their specific services and what services they preferred, and how much they paid for their services. A second establishment was discovered in Salisbury at 1121 Old Concord Road (Suite 24).
Mary Elizabeth Barnett, Brittany Lucas Morris, Krista Carter, and April Lynn Upright were charged with offering massage services without a license. Upright was also earned several drug charges as well.
