♦ Gabriel Jamar Brown, 24, formerly of West Bank St. in Salisbury, N.C., who allegedly terrorized several Rockwell women and shot the owner’s dog Sasha on May 24, 2014, was arrested early Friday morning. Law enforcement continues their hunt for Brown’s accomplice Jalen Lamont Cook, 20, formerly of W. Fisher Street in Salisbury and a yet to be identified third male said to be in his 20’s.
The home invasion robbery took place Saturday, May 24th at a home on the 200 block of Mendenhall Road near Rockwell around 11 p.m. The trio forced their way though the front door where they were met by a female occupant who asked the men to leave. Two other women in their 20’s were in the house at the time. The trio of invaders drew handguns and fired several shots killing the dog Sasha before they began ransacking the house and took a TV and some valuables. Before the trio left they menaced the occupants and once more fired their weapons.
Investigators from the Sheriff’s Office quickly identified 2 of the 3 home invaders as Salisbury’s Brown and Cook.
Brown was charged with firearms or other dangerous weapons, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill/inflict serious injury, burglary (1st degree), and cruelty to animals. Under a $100,000 secured bond, Brown is now in the Rowan County Detention Center.
