Man Shot on North Shaver Street Today in Violence Weary Salisbury, N.C. Victim Rushed to Novant Rowan Regional Medical Center

♦ Cordera Rayshard Brown, 27, formerly living on Franklin Street in Salisbury and now in Charlotte, was shot today about 12:30 p.m. while he walked with a woman on North Shaver Street near Park Avenue. The shooting was described as a drive-by.

Brown was bleeding profusely, made it to a house on the 500 block of Park Avenue where two men drove Brown to the Emergency Room at Novant Rowan Regional Medical Center. Later an ambulance transported him to Carolinas Medical Center. No word yet of his condition.

The area around the shooting was sealed off with yellow crime scene tape while Salisbury Police vehicles were parked on the nearby streets. Investigators are knocking on doors in an attempt to piece together what occurred. Investigators in short sleeves are examining along the curbs for evidence likely for shell casings.
