♦ Ralph Wager, 71, former Catawba College men’s soccer coach and youth soccer coach, after striking a plea bargain, pleaded guilty to 9 counts of taking indecent liberties with a child and 3 counts of first degree sex offense. Wager will spend the remainder of his life behind bars.

In this highly publicized Salisbury child sex crimes case, Wager faced overwhelming testimony against him from two accusers and a covertly recorded conversation where Wager made an apology to one of his accusers who was molested at age 9.
