♦ The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office is hunting for Ameer Hemang Patel, 22, alleged bad check passer and con artist who obtained a car via a bad check at Cloninger Ford & Toyota in Salisbury, N.C. Patel, a former Highpoint University student and IT for the Kay Hagan Campaign, was last known to be in the Greensboro area, but his current whereabouts are unknown. He is facing fraud charges in Cary, N.C. and in Forsyth, Durham, and Guilford Counties.
Patel faces charges in Rowan County for obtaining property under false pretentions (felony).
Patel stands about 5 foot 9 inches and weighs approximately 165. He is known to associate with computer geeks, may be working under an assumed name as an IT, and has been associated with anti-gun advocacy.
