♦ With warmer weather arriving, the uptick in seasonal vandalism is already taking its toll on the troubled city of Salisbury, N.C. Recently the city’s most popular gym The Forum Fitness Center at 2318 South Main Street had its attractive exterior vandalized by gang taggers. Over a week ago four downtown Salisbury businesses had their windows “rocked” running up their costs of doing business. Last spring, summer, and fall saw many areas of the city with countless smashed windows, graffiti, gang tagging, slapping, trashing, and “splashing” (tossing or spraying quantities of paint on windows and walls).
Hopefully our North Carolina state lawmakers, will soon produce statutes creating tougher penalties for vandals. Their unwanted art forms ugly up a city and jack up the costs of doing business.
