Brent Douglas Pickler, a Convicted Stanly County Felon, Ran Out of Luck Saturday for Alleged Gold Hill and Rockwell, N.C. Burglaries

♦ Brent Douglas Pickler, 32, of Big Buck Drive in Richfield, Stanly County, was arrested Saturday for alleged April burglaries in Gold Hill and Rockwell in Rowan County.  Pickler reportedly hid  in a shower when deputies from the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office showed up to serve warrants for two cases involving alleged breaking and entering of buildings on the 900 block of Saint Stephens Church Road in Gold Hill and the 200 block of Johnson Dairy Road in Rockwell.

Pickler’s warrants report substantial hauls in both the Gold Hill and Rockwell burglaries.  In the Rockwell break-in Tim Rummage’s house offered up a sword, a Harley-Davidson cooler, several musical instruments, mason jars, a Fender amp, an HP printer, Zippos lighters, an Xbox 360 game device, several WII games, art and valuable collectibles. Pickler also managed to hit Rummage’s vehicle leaving dents and scratches.

Pickler, according to the warrants, also helped himself to rolled coins (valued at over $2600), assorted jewelry, and a Remington 12 gauge shotgun from John Yelton’s home in Gold Hill.

Pickler’s charges showed drugs and drug paraphernalia were found on his premises including doses of clonazepam, alprazolam, Xanax, methamphetamine, as well syringes, “spoons”, scales, a smoking pipe with residue, and plastic baggies.

Pickler’s combined charges include 1 count of resist/delay/obstruct a public officer (misdemeanor), 2 charges of breaking and entering a building (felony), larceny (felony), larceny (felony) (committed pursuant to violation of GS 14-51, 54), 1 charge of larceny of a firearm (felony), possessing stolen goods (misdemeanor), 3 counts of possession of controlled substance schedule III (felony), possession of controlled substance schedule II (felony), possession of drug paraphernalia (misdemeanor), 1 charge of driving while license revoked (misdemeanor), 1 charge of hit and run property damage (misdemeanor), and 1 charge of display expired registration plate (misdemeanor).

Under a $35,000 secured bond, Pickler is being held at the Rowan County Detention Center.
