RFP Staff
♦Monday evening November 18th the Rowan County Commission met before a packed house in the commission chambers. Inside were advocates speaking against gas chambers at the Rowan County Animal Shelter, persons delivering talking points against the County’s Mall purchase and fighting to keep their businesses alive in downtown Salisbury in the light of the probable move of many county offices out to the Mall. There was a brief discussion by the School Board about bringing the Central Office to 329 S. Main with a reply coming in January of 2014.
The evening’s highlight was the presentation of the internal investigation of Jon Barber’s alleged ethics violations by Yvonne Moebs, the County’s Risk Manager. The county supplied a voluminous packet of the investigation’s evidence to the RFP which will be posted in a near future article. Later this evening we’ll post a summary of the findings against Commissioner Jon Barber. The summary was read by Yvonne Moebs at the commission meeting.
