♦How much more shame, embarrassment, and humiliation can Jon Barber bring not only on himself and his family, but to the citizens of Rowan County? Enough is enough. Everyone knows about his numerous runs-ins with the law for thievery and driving drunk. Who can forget his showing up looped at his teaching job in front of all those little children or him stealing cheap wine from a Rushco? More recently the Salisbury Post was forced to print a retraction about a fat one Jon Barber told about there being contamination at the Salisbury Mall. And then he turns around and breaks county commission ethics by blabbing information from a closed session. Character–he’s got to go searching for that word in a dictionary.
Jon appears to say anything that will advance himself with no thoughts of tomorrow. He proved beyond a shadow of doubt he’s not to be trusted. As Mac Butner wrote in the

Post: “Jon Barber is a convicted drunk and thief.” What better testimonial than Jon’s actual record and mug shot?
Now I am learning the county risk manager and the county manager Gary Page uncovered substantial evidence that Mr.Barber was running off between 7,000 and 9,000 color copies, some on card stock, for his recently closed Farm Fresh Business. This printing was done frequently all hours of the early morning before the Commission building opened. That’s well over a thousand dollars in county property gone. He’d even promised back in January, when caught the first time, that he would stop–but typically his promises are convenient and never last long. He broke that promise and was back helping himself to what amounts to government property. Be thankful he doesn’t work in a bank or a pharmacy. The man has no brakes.
If he tries to run for county commission again and the courts haven’t yet relieved him of his duties, better put that copier under lock and key. Going by his past record he’ll be in the county building printing out yard signs at 4 a.m and then pile them into his Farm Fresh bus for the good of the county and all mankind. This man has issues.
Please if you haven’t seen the video of the last county commissioner meeting, please go watch it now. Jon plays the role of an innocent victim of a witch hunt run by bullies. What a totally sick cop out.
Jon Barber if he has any decency left should turn in his resignation. He should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Before he’s gotten off soft. We see what that accomplished.
