♦Steve,

You’re not going to believe this. I was at that game. NC ST had 3 Italians in the backfield. They called it the Mafia backfield. One was future Eagle star Joe Scarpati. The ony thing I remember about the game was spending  halftime in the men’s room. There was quit a crowd in there trying to keep warm. I was 14 years

old and able to take the cold much better.

Charlie:

Glad to hear from you.  If anyone was at that game, I’m sure it was you.  You grew up within walking distance of the old Municipal Stadium.

Yes I recall all those Italians on NC. State.  Jim Rossi was the quarterback, Pete Falzarano a halfback, and Joe Scarpati was a key running back who later made it in the NFL as a decent defensive back for the Eagles.   That game was a chiller.  Hope you had fun digging out of Sunday’s snow storm.

Take care, Steve
