♦Its becoming more and more apparent to myself and most people in the county that our county commissioners are already way out in front and pulling away in the success race.  Salisbury is not only sliding backwards like a drowning man thrashing wildly, they try to take the county down with them.  People everywhere are being turned-off by Salisbury’s go nowhere desperation.  They need to stand on their own two feet and stop trying to interfere with the county’s upward growth and accomplishments.

On Monday county commissioner Chad Mitchell gave a magnificent talk about the Mall purchase.  He was dead-on.  He put to rest all the rumors being stirred up by special interests in Salisbury.  The county never had any plans to move the justice system to the mall and inconvenience a few attorneys.  The other inflammatory rumors about contamination, created by commissioner Jon Barber, caused the Salisbury Post to print a retraction after they ran his story.  I’m not going to waste my breath about Jon–A prosecutor and the justice system take care of  him and I’m sure they will.

The county commissioners made the school system some offers that would fix a lot of school system needs.  Six million dollars to build the Central Office anywhere they desired except the “fried lot” at 329 S. Main.  Jump on that deal–get this thing done. There’s other properties far better than the property at 329 S. Main.  Then to fatten the deal the county offered $22 million to build a new elementary school in West Rowan to consolidate the two decrepit elementary schools in Cleveland and Woodleaf.  Believe me these two schools are a mess.

The County’s Success:

Interfering Salisbury?  What are it’s successes?  Fibrant over 70 million in debt and climbing.  3 employees?

The legislature made Salisbury get their paws off the county the airport through de-annexation.

The Taj Mahal on MLK?  It’s been kind of empty since the county built a 911 call center for everybody.

Next thing they’ll try their hand at is RENT CONTROL to help out seniors, the gentrified, and the city’s growing poor.

Besides goosing the state and federal governments for grants (taxpayer money) when was the last time Salisbury accomplished anything of substance?
