♦According to the nation’s major broadband trade journal CED Magazine, broadband super giant Comcast is sizing up Time Warner Cable, the nation’s 2nd largest broadband operation and the largest in Rowan County, for acquisition. Reuters, according to CED Magazine, reports: “that Comcast has turned to JPMorgan Chase & Co. for its expertise in case it decides to throw a bid on Time Warner Cable.” Previously Charter, another major broadband player was allegedly turned down by Time Warner Cable Executives. If Time Warner Cable elects to go with Comcast they figure to go under the regulatory microscope of the Federal Communications Commission and the Justice Department.
