Charles Gaskins, Kannapolis, N.C.
♦There is no doubt that Salisbury has fallen on hard times in recent years. The ways they have chosen to dig themselves out have only increased the depth of economic depression there. On Tuesday I encountered an article in Wall Street 24/7 naming Salisbury, N.C. in 5th place of “Top Ten Cities in the U.S.A. Where Poverty is Soaring”. One wonders about a city whose answer for economic free-fall is to stick a school administration building on South Main’s desolation row.
