♦ David Myron Dover, 53, a career felon with a multi-county conviction history dating back to 1979, was arrested Wednesday by the Kannapolis police for the brutal Tuesday slaying of elderly Arthur Lee “Buddy” Davis in his South Rowan mobile home on Chris Ann Lane. Dover is being held without bond at the Rowan County Detention Center in what is being described as a horrific blood spattered crime scene.
Dover was charged with murder (first degree) (felony), Robbery with firearms or other dangerous weapons (felony), driving while licensed revoked (misdemeanor).
Law enforcement has not mentioned a motive or if the victim knew his alleged slayer.
Still working in auto sales at age 79, Davis had many friends. His girlfriend became alarmed Tuesday when she could not reach him and asked a co-worker of Davis to check up on him. When the co-worker arrived at the Chris Ann Lane mobile home. He entered and found Davis on the floor. 911 was called.
