Letter-to-the-Editor: What’s Salisbury’s Next TV Report? Homeless Man Beheaded and Set on Fire?

Jonathan Morris, U.S. Army Ranger Ret. and Rowan County Sheep Baron

♦Good Grief–only in Salisbury.  I just read that Doug “Lil’ Lord Fauntleroy” Paris is at it again on local TV saying that the overwhelming poverty in that mutant city is being reversed.  What is so zany about Paris’s denial is that isn’t arriving from any census data and Yahoo’s report is.  http://homes.yahoo.com/news/cities-where-poverty-is-soaring-235610513.html

The census people show Salisbury in a rapid downhill slide.  Certainly none of the poor will EVER get a high tech job at Integro.  Be serious.  Got to give Lil’ Lord Fauntleroy credit for his body slam of reality.  Look what he’s claimed before:

• He told a state legislator and a state senator that Fibrant would never dip into the city’s reserve funds.  They were already bleeding it for millions.

• He hailed Fibrant as being a great success when it was miserable failure and falling way behind in subscribership.  Even city workers were dropping it after its outages.

• He boasted the city would succeed in stopping the County’s airport de-annexation bid with a mysterious “special criteria”.  No special criteria ever showed up.  State legislators and senators, from both sides of the aisle, fell into paroxysms of laughter upon hearing of the special criteria and the two-part litmus test.

• He blew more strange smoke during the city’s ill-fated attempt to foist its LGC school Central Office application on the Local Government Commission.  He assured the true believers in Salisbury that the LGC application was sure to be approved.  Then promptly yanked it out of harm’s way when he felt the LGC’s first hot breath. The LGC application failed all the major requirements and never had a true No Further Action Letter due to the fact that 329 S. Main still had groundwater contamination.

• Doug warned everyone that evil forces were set to sue the city if it went through with the LGC application.

• He claimed the county manager and the county commissioners conspired against the downtown Central Office and made calls to the LGC when in fact the LGC called the county manager.

• After Doug and his at-a-distance Fibrant manager blamed Zhone for all those Fibrant outages, city of Salisbury purchased more Fibrant equipment from Zhone .  Raises some questions.

• How about promising both the school system and Integro the same parking lot?  Oops.

• How about Fibrant turning the corner and showing a profit?  Right.  They merely hid Fibrant’s salaries so they only have 3 employees:  Huey, Dewey, and Louie?  70+ million in debt and still owing another 7 million skimmed from the reserve funds.  Oooooooh!

Got to love the city allowing busting brews at a tattoo spot.  A Walmart bank getting tipped so somebody can score some grub and a place to flop.  Got to do what you gotta do in Salisbury.
