Salisbury: Ronald Bowman Arrested Thursday on W. Thomas on Alleged Drug Charges // Richard Agee Busted for Alleged Walgreens Robbery

♦ On Thursday afternoon persons alerted the RFP that there was intensive police and sheriff’s office activity in the 200 block of W. Thomas Street in Salisbury.  A helicopter circled and circled the area. Something was up.

Sources in both the Salisbury Police Department and the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office report that Ronald Lee Bowman, 37, of Salisbury was arrested Thursday afternoon at 225 W. Thomas Street on a list of drug charges after allegedly attempting to flee from deputies and officers during a high-speed vehicle chase. His attempt to flee allegedly included an assault with a firearm.

Bowman was charged with assault with a deadly weapon on a government official (felony), possession with intent to manufacture/sell/distribute a controlled substance schedule II (felony), trafficking heroin or opium (felony), drug-equipment/paraphernalia-using (misdemeanor), probation violation (misdemeanor), probation violation (felony), flee to elude (felony) and hit and run property damage (misdemeanor).

Under a secured $215,000 bond, Bowman is being held in the Rowan County Detention Center.

♦ According to sources in the Salisbury Police Department Richard Burlan Agee, a fugitive suspect in the Walgreen’s armed robbery on October 12th in Salisbury, was arrested by Madison County Sheriff deputies in Madison, Kentucky when he stepped off the bus to visit his father.  The deputies were armed with warrants charging Agee with robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Madison County Sheriff’s deputies were tipped off by the Salisbury Police about Agee’s scheduled bus arrival on Thursday afternoon.  The handcuffs were ready.  Agee surrendered peacefully and was loaded into an awaiting Madison County Sheriff’s Office vehicle to be booked and placed in the local jail.

Agee will be transported back to Salisbury at a date yet to be determined to face charges.  It is not known if Agee’s father will get to visit his son in the Madison County Jail.
