♦ Sources in the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office report that Sgt. Tasha Renee Redmond, 35, living on Vista Drive in Salisbury and a 12 year veteran officer with the NC Department of Corrections employed at Piedmont Correctional Institution (the “High Rise”) was charged Thursday as the result of an undercover drug sting. A search warrant was executed at her Vista Drive residence a week ago and it allegedly turned up approximately 20 grams of marijuana, a gram of suspected heroin, 3 handguns, assorted ammo, $5,700 in cash, and drug paraphernalia. The sting was conducted by the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, the Salisbury Police, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
Tasha Renee Redmond:
Redmond was charged Thursday with possession of heroin (felony), possession of controlled substance (misdemeanor), and maintaining a dwelling/vehicle for a controlled substance (felony). Under a secured $4,000 bond, She was detained in the Rowan County Detention Center before being released on bond.
