♦ The flood of heroin, meth, crack, and oxycontin is drowning Salisbury and parts of the county. The Salisbury Police and the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office are battling an unyielding foe no matter how many arrests they make and how many pounds of drugs they seize. The drug treatment community is overwhelmed. Kicking a highly addictive habit is not easy especially with meth, China White heroin, and crack available so readily in Salisbury.
According to Salisbury Police sources officers were summoned late Thursday morning to the Economy Inn a budget motel on 319 Bendix Drive where arrests are made for narcotics trafficking, prostitution, strong arm robbery, and armed robbery. The motel gets calls for overdoses as the photo below attests:
On Thursday around 11:40 a.m. the Salisbury Police arrested Matthew Wayne Bradshaw, 25, living on 126 Walkers Park Circle in Granite Quarry and charged him with possession of a controlled substance II (felony), possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver controlled substance schedule II (felony), possession of controlled substance schedule IV (misdemeanor), and possession of drug paraphernalia (misdemeanor).
Under a secured $10,000 bond, Bradshaw was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center before making bond.
