♦ Gunfire is reported almost daily since last spring in Salisbury. 14 unsolved murders are on the books and numerous persons were carted off to hospitals from gunshot wounds in the number 9th ranked most dangerous city in North Carolina according to 2 websites based on FBI UCR statistics.
Salisbury Police sources report an all other shooting into occupied property occurred at 926 Locke Street on Wednesday evening. 3 persons were in the home at the time of the shooting. Their identities are restricted likely due to their ages. The type of firearm used in the shooting is unknown. Mercifully no one was injured. Damage was done to the door and the interior and exterior walls. Total damage was estimated at $300.
The shooting remains under investigation.

♦ According to Salisbury Police sources a home on 801 Grace Street was vandalized by unknown persons hurling rocks or bricks at its windows. Six windows were shattered. The vandalism was reported to the police by Bobby Simpson, 58, who lives at the Grace Street address, at 5:21 p.m. The six windows had to be replaced at the estimated cost of $500. And some major sweeping up had to be done.
