♦ A candlelight memorial could be seen tonight in the parking lot at the Firewater Lounge on 122 S. Avalon Drive in memory of Sharod Raheen Mathis, 22, of 255 Long Bow Road in Salisbury, who was one the three homicide victims within 7 hours occurring over this past weekend. Social media traffic clearly demonstrated he was well loved by his many friends and family. No arrests have been made yet in his murder. We hope this case will not be added to Salisbury’s many unsolved murders which now number 14.
The Late and much loved Sharod Raheem Mathis:
Hours after Mathis’s death, a home at 200 Harrel Street was shot-up and a seven year old girl A’Yanna Allen was murdered. Phil Bradshaw, of Bradshaw Bail Bonding, offered a $1,000.00 reward and Obie Faggert, of TNG Barbecue, added $500.00. Others stepped forward and donated for a total of $2,100.00 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of person/persons responsible for the killing of 7 year-old A’Yanna Allen.

At today’s Salisbury’s City Council Meeting there will be Public Commentary where citizens can weigh in on the city’s violence and crime. Come early to get a seat if you plan to talk. Public commentary generally happens around 6 p.m.
