♦ Downtown Salisbury suffering through one of the worst holiday shopping seasons in a decade, triple net leases, increasing storefront vacancies, and a legendary municipal services district tax that keeps a decrepit hotel on life supports, was visited by crime Saturday and Tuesday. At least no one was shot, knifed, or beaten to a pulp by one of the city’s multitude of miscreants.
Sources in the Salisbury Police Department report that Nashville Nights, Downtown’s popular country western fun n’ fight lounge at 127 East Innes Street, was the victim of larceny–all other on Saturday. The larceny was reported at 9:37 a.m. Stolen were 2 iPhone 6s (estimated value at $1,200), 2 iPhone cases (estimated value at $40), $7 in cash, a wallet (estimated value at $20), and a Capital One Credit card.

♦ Salisbury Police sources report that Marco’s Pizza at 413 East Innes in Downtown Salisbury was the victim of larceny–all other on Tuesday. The crime was reported at 8:56 a.m. A safecracker entered Marco’s by “key/lock bypassing” and opening a safe. He helped himself to $2,076 in cash and a zipper money bag (estimated value at $35). The safe cracker exited the building.
