A Letter-to: Rep. Richard Hudson

Rick Johnson, USAF Ret., Combat Communications, Oath Keeper

♦Rep. Richard Hudson,

I want you to know, I am disgusted with Congress and their “Don’t give a crap” attitude towards veterans. Congress has BROKEN ITS’ PROMISE to my brothers in arms.  I served for 20 + years on active duty, much of this time in a combat unit.  I served multiple campaigns in Iraq.  Because of my years of service, I am now classified as 80% disabled.

The current budget, which you defend, cuts my Cost of Living Adjustments (COLA) to the tune of $93,210 over the next 20 years. That is s 12.6% reduction in PROMISED BENEFITS. http://www.airforcetimes.com/article/20131223/NEWS/312230004/COLA-cutback-angers-retirees-spouses

This does not include the cuts to my Veteran Administration disability payment.  Yes Richard, the disabled veterans COLA is cut. https://veterans.house.gov/press-release/miller-announces-legislation-to-exempt-military-retirees-disabled-retirees-from-cola

Coincidentally that is the same amount I just offered to purchase a home in Rowan county.  To think, Congress just took an entire house out of my budget.  As a disabled veteran, it is hard to replace these lost funds. I wouldn’t mind if I saw CIVILIANS who worked for the Department Of Defense and other government agencies receiving the same types of cuts.  Imagine the sequels if Congressional staff members took such a cut. I wouldn’t mind if illegal aliens were cut off from the government teat. Illegal aliens cost North Carolina taxpayers 1.1 billion dollars per year.

Hell, I would joyfully take a 12% cut in benefits if EVERYONE on the government payroll took the same 12.6% cut.  Food stamps, welfare, unemployment, Congress, Congressional staff, etc, etc, etc.  You could probably pay for the cuts to military retirees if you eliminated the Obamaphone program.  It cost Uncle Sam $2.1 Billion a year. http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2012/06/13/Spending-Off-the-Hook-Free-Phones-Costing-Taxpayers-2-1-Billion-Per-Year

To show solidarity to the veteran’s plight, why not give 12.6% of your pay to the Disabled American Veterans or the Veterans of Foreign Wars?   This would make a great reelection campaign video.  After screwing vets, your going to need all the help you can get.

It is not wise to piss off the guys who give their all so you can live in freedom.   There is a very strong movement among veterans to start an AMERICAN SPRING to return the Republic to its’ Constitutional foundation.

Do not write me back with a cookie cutter form letter.

If you wish to call, feel free to contact me.
