COUNCIL MEETING AGENDA

January 17, 2017 5:00 p.m.

1. Invocation to be given by Councilmember Miller. 2. Call to order. 3. Pledge of Allegiance. 4. Recognition of visitors present.

5. Council to recognize Police Officers Joe Wilson and Devin Barkalow for presentation of Lifesaving Awards.

6. Mayor to proclaim the following:

CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK January 29 – February 4, 2017

7. Council to consider issuance of a Special Use Permit for SUP-02-17 to permit Government Services, specifically Parks and Recreation Office, at 705 Ryan Street:

(a) Swear in those persons testifying at public hearing (b) Ex Parte Disclosure (c) Hold a public hearing – present evidence (1) Receive testimony from staff (2) Receive testimony from proponents and opponents (d) Findings of Fact (e) Decision – Council to consider issuing a Special Use Permit to permit Government Services, specifically Parks and Recreation Office, at 705 Ryan Street.

8. Council to receive a progress report from Mr. Joe Morici, Cardno Environmental, Inc., on the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Brownfields Assessment Grant.

9. Council to consider making appointments to various boards and commissions.

10. Council to receive public comment. Public comment will be opened at approximately 6:00 p.m. or at the end of the meeting, whichever comes first.

11. City Manager’s Comments.

(a) Presentation of the 2016 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR).

(b) Other comments.

12. Mayor’s Announcements.

(a) Parks and Recreation will host the 21st Annual Father/Daughter Dance for girls ages 4 to 13 and their fathers on Saturday, February 4, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Civic Center. There will be entertainment, dancing, snacks, games and door prizes. Tickets are limited to the first 325 and must be purchased in advance. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at any of the four recreation facilities. For more information please call 704-216-PLAY.
