♦ In Salisbury, according to the 2016 Salisbury Police SNAG report for 2016, burglaries rocketed upward from 299 in 2015 to 421 in 2016. Homes and commercial buildings are taking a citywide shellacking from burglars. Nothing like coming home to a ransacked house and your TVs, computers, and other valuables are gone. Count your teeth and thank your lucky stars you were not beaten or murdered by a burglar who found you home alone in Salisbury. Did the burglars come from a vacant or abandoned house in your neighborhood? Salisbury has over 2,000 vacant and abandoned houses and more on the way as people scramble for the nearest exit.
According to Salisbury Police sources Kmart, on 815 E. Innes Street, reported it was a victim of a burglary–attempted forcible entry at 3:47 p.m. Burglars tried forcing their way through a steel service door and damaged it. The estimated value of the service door was $5,000. Fortunately the burglars were unable to get inside where they could’ve cleaned house.

♦ Salisbury Police sources report that Edith Vogel was the victim of a burglary–unlawful entry at 726 N. Main Street on Monday. The crime was reported at 5:24 p.m. Taken by the burglars was a dryer valued at $400. A gray 2005 GMC Envoy SUV was damaged. The vehicles value was set at $1,000.
