♦ Early this morning the N.C. Highway Patrol pulled into C.B.’s Bar (AKA Country Boyz Motor Cycle Club) at 3750 Statesville Boulevard on the report of a shooting. Rowan County Sheriff’s deputies soon arrived on the scene and were later supported by the Salisbury Police. Two males were reported wounded, one inside the crowded establishment and one outside in the parking lot. One of the victims was transported to Novant Rowan Regional Medical Center by private vehicle. The more seriously wounded man was transported by Rowan County EMS to Novant Rowan Regional Medical Center for treatment.
According to Rowan County Sheriff’s Office sources, a 23-year old Black man, shot in the pelvic region, was helicoptered to Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem and underwent emergency surgery. He is said to be in critical condition. The second man wounded was 21. He suffered a bullet graze to his elbow. He was since treated and released from Novant Rowan Regional Medical Center.
The wounded men’s names are not known at this time. Neighbors reported hearing multiple shots being fired in the parking lot and across Statesville Boulevard at 3711. Persons in the club this afternoon believe one of the young men was shot in the lot. The crime scene encompassed 3 properties.

C.B.’s Bar underwent various name changes over the past decade: “Kahuna’s”, “Rake Em’ and Roll Em'”, “Dub’s”, and the “Buccaneer Tavern”. Country Boyz Motorcyle Club has a beer license for that address, pays taxes on the property, and the Kahuna’s sign was taken down some time ago.
