♦ The Salisbury City Council meets at 5 p.m. at Salisbury City Hall at 217 S. Main Street on Tuesday February 21st.
At 6 p.m. or at the end of the meeting City Council will entertain public comment. This is an excellent time to bring up grievances about city’s lack of answers for its out of control violent and property crime.
The Agenda:
• The adoption of temporary street closures for special events. Temporary street closures include: South Main Street between Innes and Bank streets on March 25 for a car show. Jake Alexander Boulevard starting Lincolnton and ending on Statesville Boulevard at Brenner Avenue on May 7 for the Buck Hurley Triathlon. North Main Street between Innes and Kerr streets on May 20 for the Cheerwine Centennial Celebration.
• Holding a public hearing about Community Development Block Grant and HOME Program funds.
• Receive a report from code services related to 10 structures identified as candidates for demolition.
• Consider the $20,875 purchase of a MorphoTrack LiveScan Station. Allegedly $17,000 of the purchase will be covered by grants.
• Receive city manager comments about a second quarter financial report and other matters.
