♦ According to Salisbury Police sources Johnny Mark Faulkner, 43, a resident of the Colony Gardens Apartments at 641 Statesville Boulevard, after being stabbed by a would be carjacker in the parking lot pulled a handgun on his assailant and shot at him, forcing the man to flee the area. The carjacking was reported to 911 dispatch at 12:38 a.m. Tuesday. It is not known at this time if the assailant was struck by bullets.
Faulker was transported to the Novant Rowan Regional Medical Center in serious condition.

The crime remains under investigation. No suspects were named.
