♦ According to Salisbury Police sources Justin Craig Sterling, 21, of 3315 E. N.C. Hwy 218 in Monroe and Elias Phillip Francis, 19 of 6831 Pine Lake Lane, Mint Hill are being sought for an armed robbery and 2 burglaries last week in Catawba College’s Stanback Hall dorm.

RFP Article on February 15th about the Catawba Armed Robbery and 2 Burglaries: “SALISBURY CRIMEWAVE ROCKS CATAWBA COLLEGE! Armed Robbery and Burglaries in Stanback Hall Dorm Near West Innes Tuesday and Wednesday”:
“For years students at Catawba College in Salisbury were cautioned not to walk down W. Innes Street at night to the convenience stores to buy beer or to visit the eateries like Sonic or the Palms. It was too dangerous. In the last several years the boundaries for danger changed. Students faced assaults and robberies on or near campus when night fell. Walk in groups they were advised. Between 2013 and 2015, 56 burglaries were reported on campus property.
Salisbury Police sources reported that Catawba College students Jeremy Teller, 19, of Lexington, N.C., Lucas Collie, 20, Durham, N.C., and Jhamir Rahsaan, 19, Brooklyn, N.Y. were victims of robbery–firearm and burglary–unlawful entry on Wednesday at 12:26 a.m. A handgun was held on them during the dorm invasion by two male suspects at Stanback Hall and the three students were relieved of an Apple MacBook Pro (valued at $1,300), Beats headphones (valued at $300), 2 credit cards, a wallet (valued at $15) and 2 IDs (drivers licenses). The total estimated loss at $1,619. No injuries were reported. Later it was reported that a door into Stanback Hall was left unsecured.
The crime remains under investigation. No description of the robbers is yet available.

Sources in the Salisbury Police Department report that Catawba College students Bianca Faccinetti, 19, of Charlotte, N.C. and Marian Adams, 19, a of Jefferson, S.C. were victims of a burglary–unlawful entry in their Stanback Dorm Room at 2:54 a.m. Lost to the burglar(s) were an Apple MacBook Air laptop (valued at $2,000), a Dell laptop (valued at $100), a Michael Kors woman’s wrist watch (valued at $250), 7 pairs of shoes (valued at $2,325), a book bag/beach bag (valued at $15), and luggage $75. The total loss of all valuables $4,740. No one was reported injured.”
