♦ Salisbury Police sources report that Tabitha Helms, 21, who lives on W. Horah Street in Salisbury and the Economy Inn, 319 Bendix Drive in Salisbury were victims of a robbery–firearm and burglary–forcible entry on Thursday night. The crime was reported to 911 dispatch at 9:10 p.m. It was reported that the robber(s) forced their way in the door of the motel room and assaulted Helms, forcing her to the floor. During the assault Helms sustained minor injuries. A firearm was listed in the commission of the crime, but it is not known if a weapon was shown or just threatened. The robber(s) was listed as an acquaintance of Helms.
Stolen during the robbery was a Cricket android smartphone valued at $350.
The Economy Inn has been the scene of several drug raids over the past few years.
This crime remains under investigation. No suspects were named.
